The Safety Program
We start by inducting and training every person in the organisation into the Guiding Principles and Understandings, WHS Worker Employment Handbook and environmental issues. This includes staff, casuals, part timers and volunteers.
What this achieves for management is that the “front end” is set up, so if an incident occurs in the future, you have documented evidence of due diligence. Should an event or something happen, there can be no one saying, “I was not aware I needed to do this,” or “no one told me I had to do this,” etc.
Should there be any future transgressions by any worker, their employment position is compromised based on their own prior signed agreement.
The Safety System has proven robust with problems concerning Workers, Union, Solicitors and SafeWork Inspectors. I hope your organisation does not need to exercise this option, but all the documents are there, set up for the future, if required.

The Safety System is designed to attend to the statutory obligations as
required under the WH&S Act 2011 and WH&S Regulation 2017.
The Safety System includes the necessary additions and variations that the WHS Law commands.
We place special emphasis on the selection, pre-employment and induction process, as it is vital that these areas are tightened up in a business.
It is also vital that we get a status report on all existing staff. We do this by re-inducting everyone in to the WH&S Laws and having them complete a series of forms, in order to get the information that we seek. These forms include: • Existing staff update of personal details.• Assessment of Musculoskeletal Discomfort.• Pre-existing Condition Report.• Consultation Election Form• Guiding Principles and Understanding• Staff induction to WHS• Permission to contact doctor form. Other contents include sections on: Breaches by staff, consultation, training, risk management, hazard reporting, test and tag, hazardous substances, accidents and environment, including details and forms for easy operation.
